Yes, you read that correctly. This is not satire.
The Biden Administration is considering banning gas stoves over reported health concerns such as respiratory and cardiovascular disease.
The U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission, sometime this winter, will release a public comment on the dangers of gas stoves.
The federal agency may look to ban the manufacture of gas stoves and cease all imports as well.
Gas stoves, which are used in about 40% of homes in the U.S. emit toxins such as nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and other microparticles that are considered unsafe by the World Health Organization and the U.S. EPA.
The emissions from gas-powdered stoves have been linked to cancer and heart disease as well as other health concerns, says agency’s commissioner Richard Trumka Jr.
Libertarian candidate Darryl Perry said during the 2016 Libertarian Party Presidential Debate that the government required far too many things to be licensed. Right now, he said, they require a license to drive and to get married. What’s next? A license to make toast in your own damn toaster?!
Well, perhaps they’re getting to that point. A ban on gas stoves is quite close. Maybe 40% of Americans will need to get a gas stove license. Maybe they will assign a task force to confiscate dangerous gas stoves from the home by force?
It’s for your own good.
