Are Libertarians Anti-Racist?

Yes, libertarians are anti-racist, opposing all forms of political and institutionalized racism.

Libertarianism is a political philosophy that endorses the inalienable rights of all people, regardless of their race, ethnicity, sex, class, creed, sexuality, sexual preference or gender.

The government has no authority to limit, curtail, abridge, revoke or otherwise alter the natural rights of individuals based on racial identity.

Although libertarians endorse freedom of association, racism contradicts libertarianism because it fails to recognize the individual, a core value of the philosophy.

Ultimately, libertarians are free to like or dislike anybody for whatever reason they deem acceptable. However, lumping people into groups based on race and casting judgment without knowing or interacting with the individual is a gross transgression unto the philosophy of libertarianism.

Individual rights and self-ownership are fundamental tenets of libertarianism. If libertarians cast judgment on a person, it is based on the character and actions of an individual, not their race, gender, sex etc.

While recognizing the plight of marginalized groups, libertarians celebrate the individual and seek to create a world where individual rights are perpetually honored and protected.
